I was so sad when they pulled this off shelves earlier this year but now it’s back! I think it tastes pretty much the same; maybe just a little weaker.
This morning I have my power yoga class to teach so I had a breakfast that would stick with me.
Oats with a scoop of Super Seeds, rice milk, lots of cinnamon, sliced banana and a sprinkle of my maple pecan granola. So good! I usually don’t like to add crunch to my oatmeal but this was the perfect topper.
The Super Seed powder adds a healthy dose of fiber, iron, omega-3’s, probiotics and enzymes. I realize that most blog readers don’t follow the SAD (standard American diet) but I do wish the average person would incorporate more omega-3’s in their diet. Omega-3 fatty acids are great at reducing inflammation which can help lower risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis (who doesn’t want to avoid those!). Omega-3’s are also good for healthy skin and hair, can increase calcium absorption leading to stronger bones and even reduce asthma symptoms. Good sources are chia seeds, flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, fish, and walnuts.
Well… better get ready for yoga! I’m planning on doing lots of these in my class today so why not make it the Yoga Pose of the Day: Dolphin Plank
This pose is a great core strengthener! It also helps stretch the backs of the legs and feet. Try it out 😉
