Another Kind of Green

Tip #14:  Make green tea part of your daily routine

By now you’re all on the healthy bandwagon of green smoothies but there’s another green drink that can boost your health – green tea!  The health benefits are amazing:

  • contains cancer fighting antioxidants (EGCG)
  • stimulates metabolism
  • boosts energy
  • improves immune function
  • can lower cholesterol levels
  • can prevent tooth decay
  • improves bone health

Here are a few of my favorites:

As a mid-morning snack I brewed a cup of the Yogi “Goji Berry” tea and had two no-bake cookies that I just whipped up.

These little bites were so good!   I started with two GF graham crackers, ground up; mixed with 1 TBSP of  the nut butter I made yesterday…

Sunflower seeds, pepitas and pistachios- not very smooth but great taste!  Then for the cookies I added 2 tsp honey, 1 chopped date, 2 chopped dried plums, topped with chia seeds.

Now it’s back to work.  Lots to get done before my Tone & Sculpt class this afternoon (including planning what to teach)!  Let’s hope I didn’t scare anyone with last week’s class and they’ll be back today 🙂
